So…ah…yeah, today was a weird day. I’m thinking I probably should have started this a little bit later in the month becaue I’m super broke and super busy right now. Or maybe keeping track of what I’m eating is making me realize just how weird my food schedule is.
This morning I ate an apple. And that was pretty much only because I knew I’d have to blog about what I ate later. So, basically, I wouldn’t have eaten anything until I got home. And you know, some people might consider this a sort of diet plan, but personally I find it incredibly unhealthy. In all honestly, the apple is about two weeks old and it’s bit sitting in the fridge next to some french onion soup I made last week, and well, it tasted a bit funky. I was starving though, so it really hit the spot.
Tonight, I’m just cooking up some more wheat pasta with some leftover strained tomatoes and garlic. I promise though, you’ll have a lot to look at this weekend. I went to the co-op today and bought everything that I’d need. I have decided I’ll be making the ciabatta bread to go with the bruschetta. I think I’ll just buy that in the QC though. It’s a pretty big metropolitan area, it’s bound to have a few health stores. If not, I’ll setlle for conventional products, but still make sure they’re unprocessed. If not, well, I’ll buy bread and my family will enjoy it, but I”ll just have the dip. Heh.
I emailed Olive Garden the other day, to see if maybe they’d want to get in on the 20% real food challenge by 2020 thing, but I got an incredibly interesting response. In fact, I’ll probably be doing more research into Olive Garden and in to restaurants and their food in general. I mean, it’s a well known fact that the food we get in the grocery store isn’t even close to being local, but to be honest, I’d never really even thought about the food at restaurants until I was in the kitchen and noticed that pretty much all of our food is from Mexico. Mexico. Yeah.
I’ll post their reply on a seperate page shortly, but first I need to somehow see if there’s a way to see what my initial contact conversation was. I feel it’s unfair to only show their respsonse and my reaction to it without showing what I said first.
At any rate, this is kind of a boring entry, but, I imagine…well know, it’ll get more interesting soon.
364 days to go!
Addendum:
I was just re-reading the email Olive Garden sent to me and there was this in tiny print at the bottom–

I’m not sure if I’m legally allowed to post what they said to me online. Luckily, I know a few law students and a lawyer who may be able to help me get around this or figure out if it’s legit.
